Description

Monosolenium tenerum, commonly known as Pellia, is a distinctive moss-like liverwort that forms dense, cushion-like mats, making it an excellent choice for shrimp tanks, breeding tanks, and Nature-style aquascapes. Its ribbon-like, semi-transparent fronds create a soft, natural appearance, resembling a larger and more substantial version of Riccia or moss.

Unlike true mosses, Pellia does not have traditional stems or leaves. Instead, it is a thalloid liverwort that grows as overlapping, branching fronds, giving it a unique, flowing structure.

Care Requirements

Pellia thrives under low to medium lighting and can grow successfully without CO₂ supplementation, making it particularly well suited to low-tech aquariums. It is generally undemanding and adapts well to a range of stable freshwater conditions.
